Mississippi Valley State is most improved program the SWAC. Willie “Satellite” Totten is the cause of that. Surprisingly the defense is what got better in a hurry and not the offense. The defense finished the 2002 season ranked second behind east champion Alabama A&M. The offense struggled all year with turnovers in the red zone, which cost them some games. Expect the offense to be better and more discipline. The offense line, the major weakness last year, will be improved. The running game will be the benefit of that. The Devils were eighth in the SWAC only rushing for 90 yards a game. This will not cut the mustard this year. This will be the Devils year. They will shock a lot of teams and post its best season in years. The Devils will beat every team in the east but A&M. Now with that said, can A&M beat every team in the East? That will answer the question if the Devils can go to the SCG. Prediction: 9-2
