ASU Tranfers Look to Make a Difference
8/21/02
Former Troy State players Thomie Venisee and Chad Lucas have been planning to make a big impact in the SWAC. These guys know what playing big time college football is all about.

“We know what it takes to play on that level and the hard work that’s involved. That’s what we’re sharing with these guys”  said Venisse.

Both Venisse and Lucas have been working hard to learn the teams system as well as the teams unwritten rules.

“These guys here know what to expect from the opponents that we’ll be playing,” Lucas said. “They’ve been helping us to move forward as quickly as possible.”

Head coach L.C. Cole has nothing but good words to say about Lucas and Venisse.

“Those two guys there are something else,” Cole said. “You couldn’t really ask players to be any better than those two guys have been since they’ve been here. I just thank Troy for letting them go.”

The transfers have been sitting back watching the other team mates perform and learning from them. The biggest thing Lucas and Venisse like about the change in schools is the offensive system.

“You never know when the ball is going to come to you,” Venisse said. “That’s what I like about it. It doesn’t focus on just one receiver. Everybody is in the play, every play.”
