![]() Bulldogs Beat GSU and Make Statement HUNTSVILLE, Ala. (AP) -- Jeremy Licea kicked a 20-yard field goal in regulation Saturday night to clinch a 30-27 victory for Alabama A&M and hand Grambling State its second straight overtime defeat. Grambling State (0-2) had pounded the Bulldogs (2-0)in two meetings last season, winning by a combined 89-6, including the Southwestern Athletic Conference championship game. The Tigers sprang to an early lead with a 25-yard field goal from Tim Manuel, but the Bulldogs followed with a five-yard touchdown from Kelcy Luke.Grambling St. scored with two seconds left in the second quarter to end the half 10-6. Alabama A&M's Trevis O'Neal scored the only run in the third to put his team ahead 13-10 and Luke opened the fourth with a five-yard TD run. Tim Abney caught a 27-yard pass from Brandon Landers for Grambling's first TD of the quarter. Luke completed a four-yard pass to O'Neal which he ran into the end zone to put the Bulldogs ahead by 10. Henry Tolbert caught a seven-yard pass from Luke with 4:29 left in the fourth and a last-second 41-yard field goal from Manuel sent the game into overtime. Grambling State had lost to Hampton 27-26 on a blocked extra-point attempt in overtime in its season opener.
