Bulldogs Score 14 Unanswered to Beat Jags

HUNTSVILLE, Ala. (AP) -- Kelcy Luke tossed a 37-yard touchdown pass to Emmanuel Edwards with 6:19 to play in the game as Alabama A&M scored two fourth quarter touchdowns in a come-from-behind 28-21 victory over Southern University Saturday night.

The winning touchdown came at the end of a seven play, 91-yard drive.

Alabama A&M (4-1, 3-1 Southwestern Athletic Conference) trailed 21-14 entering the fourth quarter and tied the score with 12:12 to play on a four-yard scoring toss from Luke to Kevin Francis.

The game was tied 14-14 at halftime and the Jaguars (3-3, 2-2) took the lead on a 49-yard run by Kendall Addison in the opening minute of the third quarter.

The Bulldogs got off to a quick start as Ulysses Banks returned the opening kickoff 90 yards for a touchdown. Luke ran 17 yards for another score to give Alabama A&M a 14-0 first quarter lead.

Southern came back to tie the score in the second quarter on a 20-yard pass from C.J. Byrd to Brian Washington and a seven-yard run by Byrd.

Southern's Kendall Addison was the leading rusher, gaining 107 yards on nine carries. For the Bulldogs, Ta'Mar Scott ran 18 times for 98 yards.
