Braves Offense Opens Up Versus TSU LORMAN, Miss. (AP) -- Tony Hobson Jr. passed for two touchdowns and ran for another to lead Alcorn State to 44-23 win over Texas Southern on Saturday. Hobson connected with Charlie Spiller within the first minute of the game on a 31-yard pass to give the Braves (3-3) an early lead. Alcorn later scored on a blocked punt. Texas Southern (2-4) answered with Brent Wilson's 9-yard run and a safety to make the score 21-9.Alcorn extended its lead in the second quarter on Hobson's 4-yard touchdown run. Alcorn led 34-9 at the half. Hobson was 8-of-14 for 165 yards passing and rushed four times for 19 yards before being replaced by Chris Walker, who was 4-of-6 for 89 yards. Vernardu Cooper rushed 15 times for Texas Southern, picking up 100 yards.
