Grambling Rebuilding?

Last year the Grambling State University Tiger fans were left with one of the best seasons they could ask for. They defeated Southern University in the State Farm Bayou Classic, won the SWAC championship, and was Black College National Champs.  This will be a tough act to follow.

The Tigers graduated most of their offense including quarterback Randy Hymes. Head Coach Doug Williams will have his work cut out grooming another quarterback this year. Hymes backup last year, Bruce Eugene, will lead the Tigers offensively. Returning running back Brad Hill will carry the load of the offense. Hill ran for over 1,000 yards last year and will need to gain about 400 more to take the pressure off Eugene.

Look for the defense which is returning its nucleus to stop opposing team's offenses. Three starters return on the defensive line and will stop the run cold and rush the passer with the same enthusiasm of last year.

The key to win for the Tigers is stay composed and injury-free through out the season. The defense has to carry the load early in the season while the offense finds its rhythm.

Predicted season: 8-4

(Predicted Loses: Alcorn State University, Tennessee State University, Jackson State University, Southern University A&M College)
