Jackson State athletic director Roy Culberson said that the head coaching job will be filled by January 1^st.  The committee to search for a head coach will be formed by mid December. The committee will most likely consist of five to seven people from every aspect of the community and administration.

"We'll screen the applications we receive and come up with a short list (of finalists)," Culberson said.

This will process will cause major problems. By not naming a coach by Jan. 1^st will put JSU behind the eight ball for recruiting. The New coach will only have month to make major decisions. Off season training won’t be affect that much but the overall moral of the team will be a question. JSU must be patient if they want to follow this time line. With a coach getting fired going 7-4 this tells me that the administration will not be patient. Expect a worst season next year.
