Our we talking about Southern Miss here… The great C-USA team… The 6-5 juggernaut… Let's talk about your offense since that is what would have to score that phantom 38+ points you are speaking of. First off, will these points start with your quarterback? You know the one that couldn’t manage to throw but 15 touchdowns all of last season. Seven being against the great WHOuston (0-11) and TuLAME (3-9) defenses… Wait hold up!!! He’s not there anymore. Can we say backup? HUM??? Next… Running back… Nix??? When was the last time he played? It sure wasn’t the last two seasons. So, you will be breaking in a new quarterback and an old running back??? Wide Receivers… Why talk about them? They need someone to throw them the ball. My question is again, WHERE ARE THESE POINTS COMING FROM? Is the defense going to score? Or the offensive line? I’ll give you a quote about your team’s offense. READ THIS: “Even with an experienced quarterback in Kelly, the Golden Eagles had a sub-par offensive showing last season. They were ninth in Conference USA in total offense in conference games, averaging 335.3 yards per game, and tied for sixth in scoring offense, averaging 27.4 points per game…” (http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/football/college/2002/preview/soumiss/ Didn’t Southern Miss lose to TCU??? Did a I-AA team beat them? See Northwestern State… Looks like a repeat of history in C-USA. Let me ask this question. What will be your record this year? Is Jackson State the only team that you can talk noise to? Aren’t you the third best team in Mississippi? After August 31, you might be the fourth… But hey, at least you will still be ahead of Alcorn. I hate to see your recruiting after this one. Think about it… Oh yeah, when did Southern Miss become the Harvard of the south? Maybe I missed that one. Is this someone from the state of Mississippi talking about facilities at the small black school? Wasn’t it your state that was sued because of not equally funding the schools you speak of? Didn’t those schools win the lawsuit? Maybe you should watch the news some times. Oh and I do believe that Jackson State out numbers you in attendance. Or maybe that’s some of that fuzzy math that your president talks about. When was the last sell out at your school before Jackson State sold out your stadium for you? Can you remember that? Maybe not... You seem to have a problem with facts and figures. I'm glad that I could help.
